Scottsdale Peak Season 2027

From late January through March, Scottsdale hosts three of the biggest events in the Southwest, all inside about eight weeks. They land in the Valley's best weather, with average highs in the high 60s and 70s, and they are the busiest weeks of the year for flights, hotels and vacation homes. Here's what's happening in 2027 and how to plan around it.

Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction: January 23 to 31

The world's best-known collector car auction runs nine full days in 2027 at WestWorld of Scottsdale, 16601 N Pima Road. That adds a second weekend of live bidding compared with recent years. Expect thousands of classic, custom and exotic cars and big crowds on both weekends.

• Best for: car fans, groups and families. Weekdays are calmer than the two Saturdays.
• Getting there: WestWorld is in north Scottsdale near the Loop 101. Ride-share and the on-site lots both fill up on weekends, so go early.
• Tickets: daily and multi-day passes are sold on the official site, barrett-jackson.com.

WM Phoenix Open: February 8 to 14

Known for the loudest crowds in golf, the WM Phoenix Open runs tournament week February 8 to 14, 2027, at TPC Scottsdale, 17020 N Hayden Road. The four official rounds are Thursday, February 11 through Sunday, February 14. The stadium-style 16th hole is the party; the back nine is where you watch golf.

• Best for: golf fans and groups. Monday through Wednesday practice days are the easiest way to see players up close.
• Getting there: traffic around Hayden Road and the Loop 101 is heavy all week. Plan on shuttles or ride-share rather than parking near the course.
• Tickets: on sale now at wmphoenixopen.com.

Spring training: from February 19

All 15 Cactus League teams train in the Valley, and games begin Friday, February 19, 2027, running into the third week of March. In Scottsdale itself, the San Francisco Giants play at Scottsdale Stadium in Old Town, and the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies share Salt River Fields at Talking Stick.

• Best for: baseball fans, families and anyone who wants a relaxed afternoon in the sun. Lawn seats are cheap and kid-friendly.
• Plan for: the current agreement between Major League Baseball and the players' union expires December 1, 2026. If a new deal isn't reached, spring training could be delayed, so check the latest before you book around a specific game.
• Schedules and tickets:cactusleague.com and each team's site.

How to plan a peak season trip

• Book early. These are the most requested weeks of the year in Scottsdale. The best homes near Old Town and north Scottsdale go first.
• Stack your events. A trip from February 8 to 21 catches the Phoenix Open and the first weekend of spring training.
• Bring layers. Days are warm, but desert nights in January and February average in the 40s.
• Leave room for the desert. Camelback Mountain, Pinnacle Peak and the McDowell Sonoran Preserve are at their best this time of year.
