Tucked between Scottsdale and Phoenix, Paradise Valley is a small town with a big reputation. It is quiet, residential and framed by mountains on almost every side, yet it sits minutes from Old Town Scottsdale, the Biltmore area and Sky Harbor Airport. For many visitors, it is the best of both worlds: a peaceful home base with world-class resorts, restaurants and hikes at the edge of the neighborhood.

Mountains framing the town
Paradise Valley grew after World War II as a place of large lots, typically one to five acres, and that spacious feel remains today. Mummy Mountain rises in the middle of town, Camelback Mountain marks the southern edge, and Piestewa Peak sits to the west. Streets are quiet and dark at night, homes are set back from the road, and the mountain views change color through the day. If you want privacy and room to spread out but still want to be ten minutes from dinner, this is the spot.
For a small town, Paradise Valley has an impressive list of resorts, including the Omni Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Montelucia, Sanctuary on Camelback, Mountain Shadows, The Hermosa Inn and Camelback Inn. Even if you are staying in a private home, their restaurants, bars and spas are open to visitors. See our spa guide for where to book a treatment.
Paradise Valley is a residential town that values its quiet. Visitors who keep music low at night and respect neighbors fit right in. The reward is simple: starry skies, desert birdsong in the morning and a front-row seat to some of the prettiest mountain views in the Valley.
